Introducing: Follow Mode

Follow mode is our answer to the question: What’s a better alternative to screen sharing design files that makes it easier for everyone to contribute to a design review?

Why we built it

Traditional screen sharing is suboptimal for complex design reviews because:

1. Only one person can speak or comment at a time
2. Participants are reluctant to interrupt the presenter to make comments, resulting in valuable feedback going undocumented

Follow mode solves this problem by giving reviewers the ability to “follow” a peer as they interrogate a design, while maintaining the ability to leave a comment without interrupting the discussion.

How it works

When viewing a common file with another person, whether in a design review meeting or otherwise, simply click their avatar to follow their view.

You’ll follow along as they view, mark up, and leave feedback on the file. If at any point you’d like to leave feedback of your own, just drop a pin and you’ll be taken out of follow mode.
