We’re excited to welcome you to the CoLab family, Yasir! Tell us a little about yourself.
I graduated computer science from Memorial University around 9 years ago. I worked my way up the IT chain until I reached my career goal of focusing on security. I like to learn new things and in my spare time I do hacking challenges.
How did you first get into security?
I was working on an iPhone app in 2014, and while I was researching way to avoid SQL Injections, I read articles about ethical hacking which intrigued me. Since then I never stopped learning about security.
Why did you join CoLab and what are you most excited about?
CoLab is a young company yet it has so much culture embedded in its fabric. I love how everyone cares about one another and how it made everyone feel like a family instead of a colleague.
If you had to be shipwrecked on a deserted island, but all your human needs—such as food and water—were taken care of, what two items would you want to have with you?
A pencil and a sudoku book.
