We’re excited to welcome you to the CoLab family, Meagan! Tell us a little about yourself.

I’m a Cape-Bretoner-turned-Newfoundland-and-Labradorian who owns an excessive number of Sharpies. Some days my biggest stress in life is making sure my six-year-old doesn’t leave uncapped markers abandoned somewhere in our home.

On a completely different note: since 2018, I’ve been acting in an annual benefit production of Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues to raise money for local organizations that work to end gendered violence. If you’ve never attended a production of this renowned play, it’s a powerful and entertaining experience that supports important nonprofits.

How did you first get into marketing?

With a very twisty and turny path! In 2009, I was actually a pharmacy student. By 2012, I had switched to commerce and completed a marketing work term. I loved it, but it led me to switch degrees again to a Bachelor of Arts in English and psychology — and that’s the degree that actually got me into marketing (that, plus a lot of time roaming the internet reading marketing blogs as a student).

Why did you join CoLab and what are you most excited about?

What am I NOT excited about?! I’ve actually been following CoLab’s story since day one, so I jumped at the chance to join the team. If you’d like the full description of all the reasons I joined CoLab and all the things I’m excited about, let me know and I’ll whip up about 12,000 words detailing it all! I can’t even begin to pick things to list.

If you had to be shipwrecked on a deserted island, but all your human needs—such as food and water—were taken care of, what two items would you want to have with you?

By “items” you mean books, right?
