What is IATF?

IATF stands for the International Automotive Task Force, which is an organization that develops and maintains the Quality Management System (QMS) requirements for the automotive industry. The IATF was established in 1992 as a joint effort by the world's leading automotive manufacturers and their respective trade associations. The organization's mission is to promote the development of global QMS standards that are designed to improve the quality, safety, and environmental performance of automotive products and processes. The IATF has developed a number of QMS standards, including the IATF 16949 standard, which is a requirement for automotive suppliers to obtain customer recognition.
