Agentic CAD refers to AI systems that can take actions inside CAD workflows rather than simply providing recommendations. Instead of only generating geometry, agentic CAD systems may edit models, automate repetitive CAD tasks, retrieve engineering information, perform first-pass reviews, or interact with existing CAD software on an engineer's behalf. In the near term, the most practical applications are likely to be bounded, verifiable tasks such as design review, standards checks, documentation support, and workflow automation rather than fully autonomous product design.
