What is IATF 16949?

The IATF 16949 standard is a quality management system (QMS) standard that was developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) specifically for the automotive industry. It is based on the ISO 9001 standard, with additional requirements that are specific to the automotive sector. The IATF 16949 standard covers a wide range of topics, including customer focus, quality management, product design and development, process control, and continuous improvement. It is designed to help automotive suppliers improve the quality, safety, and environmental performance of their products and processes, and to facilitate the development of a global supply chain that is capable of meeting the increasingly complex and demanding requirements of the automotive industry.
