CoLab 2.10 - Drag and Drop Images and Review Planner Search

Product

Web App Update

Search functionality added to the Review Planner. As the first step in better review management, we’ve added a search field to the review planner so you can find reviews easier in a lengthy list.

Copy and paste OR drag and drop svg or image files into your PDF markups. You can now copy an image (.jpg or .png file) from your computer and paste it into a CoLab markup, or drag and drop the image file into a CoLab markup. Here’s how:

  1. Copy an image saved on your computer by right clicking or using ctrl + c
  2. In CoLab, open a PDF or a markup on a review slide, and use ctrl + v to paste the image
  3. To drag and drop, select an image saved on your computer (.jpg or .png file) and drag onto a PDF in CoLab
  4. Once the image appears, you can position, resize and rotate it as desired
  5. To save the image on the PDF, summarize the issue and hit ‘Save’

Tip: this works with the snipping tool too! After taking a screen grab using the snipping tool, just copy the image using ctrl + c, and then hover over the document or markup in CoLab and hit ctrl + v.

Note: If you are using Windows, you will need to open the image (in the Photos viewer or similar), copy the image from there, and then paste into CoLab using ctrl + v. Copying the file from Windows Explorer will not work.

Copy and Paste Image Onto PDF

Drag and Drop Image Onto PDF

Copy and paste markups across pages of a PDF. You can now copy and paste markups across pages of a PDF. Here’s how:

  1. Create a markup using the PDF Markup tools
  2. Click on a markup and use ctrl + c to copy it
  3. Move your cursor to another page in the PDF document and use ctrl + v to paste the markup
  4. To delete a markup, highlight the markup and hit ‘Delete’ on your keyboard

New ‘Delete’ button added to PDF Markup toolbar. The new ‘Delete’ button makes it easy to delete a markup made from a touch device, such as an iPad.

New 3D Viewer selection color options. To make highlighting a part more obvious, we’ve added new color options. Click the Settings menu on the 3D toolbar, and choose a new ‘Face and Line Selection Color’ or ‘Body Selection Color’.

Admins can now change the owner of a project. We’ve added the ability for company admins and project owners to change the owner of a project from the Project Settings page.

Ability to paste images to the ‘Attachments & Screenshots’ section of an issue. To make image uploading easier in an issue, simply copy and paste or drag and drop an image into the ‘Attachments & Screenshots’ section of an issue. Here’s how:

  1. Drag and drop an image from your computer (.jpg or .png file) into the ‘Attachments & Screenshots’ dropzone in an issue
  2. OR copy an image using right click or ctrl + c from your computer, and then using ctrl + v to paste the image into the ‘Attachments & Screenshots’ dropzone area in an issue

Note: If you are using Windows, you will need to open the image (in the Photos viewer or similar), copy the image from there, and then paste into CoLab using ctrl + v. Copying the file from Windows Explorer will not work.

Bugfixes:

No longer able to markup deleted files.  Previously, if you deleted a file, it still remained visible in the viewer and you were still able to mark it up. Now if you delete a file, it will be removed from the viewer and you’ll see a message prompting you to select or upload another file.

Left sidebar no longer opens when clicking between slides in review planner launch mode.
